Mordecai Brown went the distance and he went yard and had 2 RBI as the Chicago
Cubs outscored the struggling Cincinnati Reds in 13 innings 6 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Chicago won it in the 13th inning.  The
big moment was provided by Brown who quieted the crowd when he lifted one out
of the park for a two run home run.  Both teams totaled 12 hits on the
afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Brown(4-2) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
The losing pitcher was Andy Coakley(1-6) in relief.  

Chicago now has a record of a league leading 24-11.  With the loss, the
Cincinnati ballclub's record is 14-20.
