Bob Feller completed the game without help from the bullpen at Griffith
Stadium where the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 6
to 3.
Washington started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first plating 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Phil Cavarretta started
the rally when he drew a walk. One out later, Jerry Priddy came up and he
popped a two-run clout over the fence. Washington had 7 hits for the
afternoon.
The win went to Feller(4-3) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Al Brazle(4-2) was
the loser. He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.
