Bill Wight had an impressive outing as the Chicago-NL Cubs beat the Cleveland
Indians by a score of 2 to 1.

Chicago-NL claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run on
2 base hits.  Jackie Robinson smacked a single, and an error was also
committed.  Elston Howard followed next and he slapped a single.  Duke Snider
got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Ernie
Banks came up and he would ground out scoring the run.  Overall Chicago-NL
out-hit Cleveland 6 to 3.  

Wight(3-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 1 run.
Dixie Howell preserved the game for Wight, recording his his 1st save.  Billy
Hoeft(0-3) took the loss.
