Hugh Daily mowed down 10 Boston batters and Charlie Briggs collected 2
extra-base hits and had 2 RBI at South Side Park as the Chicago-Pittsbg
Stogies embarrassed the Boston Reds by the lopsided score of 15 to
1.

Daily(8-7) was tremendous on the mound for Chicago-Pittsbg. He allowed only 6
hits and no walks in 9 innings. Chicago-Pittsbg provided plenty of action in
the 6th inning tallying 5 runs and the 8th inning with 6 runs on 6 hits.
Chicago-Pittsbg dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.

Tommy Bond(7-5) was tagged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 13 hits
and 6 walks in 8 innings. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Daily
- except Boston. Tim Murnane lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He
was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout
pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were
the visitors!'
