Tom Forster had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Ed Cushman was able to finish what
he started and was credited with a complete game as the New York
Metropolitans defeated the Cincinnati Red Stockings by a score of 7 to 3 at
St. George Grounds.

Cushman(4-10) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He allowed just 6 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings.  New York and Cincinnati each finished the afternoon
with 6 hits.  

Tony Mullane(9-8) was given the loss.  It was a tough loss for him as he did
not allow an earned run in his 8 innings of work.
