Billy Hamilton had 6 hits and 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies clobbered the
outmatched Chicago Colts, 17 to 3.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Hamilton. He ripped a single in the 1st inning, stroked a
one-base hit scoring a run in the 2nd inning, smacked a base-hit resulting in
a run in the 3rd inning, lashed a single which brought home a run in the 5th
inning, laced a base-hit in the 6th inning and laced a one-base hit in the
8th inning. Philadelphia bats were very productive in the 2nd inning with 4
runs on 3 hits, the 3rd inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the
5th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 6 hits. Offensively, Philadelphia
was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win went to Gus Weyhing(4-1) who allowed 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Bill
Hutchison(2-3) was tagged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 24 hits
and 3 walks in 8 innings.
