In the 6th inning St. Louis scored 2 runs. Doggie Miller led off and started the attack as he reached on an error. Duff Cooley stepped up next and he lined a base-hit. Two outs later Dick Buckley came up and he drew a walk to load the bases. Breitenstein stepped in and he drew a walk which scored a run. Brickyard Kennedy then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed scoring the final run of the inning. St. Louis rapped out 7 hits for the afternoon. Breitenstein(3-8) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Kennedy(2-3) took the loss. 'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Breitenstein, 'I got burned on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
