Billy Lauder had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Red Donahue completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the blistering-hot Philadelphia Phillies
defeated the Cleveland Spiders by a score of 8 to 7 at Baker
Bowl.

Philadelphia went ahead for good in the 7th inning plating one baserunner.
Cleveland made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the
needed runs across.  

Donahue(4-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 7 runs. The loss
was charged to Jim Hughey(0-7).  He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 6
walks in 8 innings.  

'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us today' Joe Quinn said.
'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to take.'
