Irv Young went the distance and Patsy Dougherty smacked 2 triples and had 2
RBI as the New York-NL Giants topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 9
to 5 at American League Park.

New York-NL came up with 5 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 6 hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Dougherty who deflated the spirits
of the home town crowd when he tripled bringing in two baserunners.  New
York-NL bats were hot in the 7th inning with 5 runs on 6 hits.  New York-NL
rapped out 20 hits for the afternoon.  

Young(6-3) got the victory, allowing 5 runs for the game. Eddie Cicotte(1-2)
was the loser in relief.
