In a good matchup it was the St. Louis-AL Browns 7, the Chicago-NL Cubs 4 at
West Side Park.

The game started off with St. Louis-AL taking the lead in the first scoring a
single run using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Spike Shannon delivered
a one-base hit.  Sherry Magee was next and he ripped a base-hit.  Harry
Steinfeldt then delivered a one-base hit scoring the run.  St. Louis-AL
provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning which saw them score 2 runs on 4
hits and the 6th inning tallying 2 runs.  St. Louis-AL out-hit Chicago-NL for
the game, 20 hits to 5.  

Harry Howell(4-2) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Bob Wicker
preserved the game for Howell, recording his his 2nd save.  Doc Scanlan(2-7)
was the losing pitcher.  He was unable to control the St. Louis-AL offense
and allowed 16 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.
