WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Mike Mowrey robbed Tom Downey of a base hit.

The St. Louis Cardinals endured an embarrassing pasting as a potent Cincinnati
Reds lineup tallied 15 runs while Jack Rowan(4-2), with relief help from
Harry Gaspar, allowed St. Louis 5 runs.

It was a good day for Cincinnati thanks to Dick Hoblitzell. He tripled which
brought home a run in the 4th inning, singled bringing home two baserunners
in the 5th inning and hit a single bringing in a run in the 7th inning.
Cincinnati bats were very productive in the 3rd inning when they had 5 runs
on 3 hits and the 4th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits.
Offensively, Cincinnati was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Bob Harmon(3-5) was the loser. He was touched for 14 hits and 7 walks in 6
innings.
