Bob Elliott blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds outscored
the Boston-AL Red Sox 8 to 6.

In the 7th inning Cincinnati scored 2 runs. Eddie Robinson led off and started
the attack as he reached on an error.  Elliott next to the plate and he
blasted a two-run home run.  The Boston-AL offense proved no trouble in the
9th.  

Bob Miller(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ned
Garver preserved the game for Miller, recording his his 3rd save.  Bill
Macdonald(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 3 hits and 2
walks in 3 innings.
