After an out was recorded, Del Crandall initiated the scoring spurt when he delivered a base-hit. Gil McDougald stepped up to the plate and he tripled plating a run. Connie Marrero then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Cincinnati had 12 hits for the afternoon while Philadelphia-AL had 8.
