Ted Kluszewski left the yard and had 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds topped the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a score of 11 to 6 at Crosley
Field.

Philadelphia-AL was unable to climb back into it after Cincinnati went ahead
for good in the bottom of the 6th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits.
After an out was recorded, Del Crandall initiated the scoring spurt when he
delivered a base-hit.  Gil McDougald stepped up to the plate and he tripled
plating a run.  Connie Marrero then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run
of the inning.  Cincinnati had 12 hits for the afternoon while
Philadelphia-AL had 8.  

Marrero(1-1) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Morrie Martin(1-1)
absorbed the loss in relief.  Cincinnati scored big getting 7 runs off him in
2 innings.  

When questioned, Rob Hickok remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt this
good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
