Yankees bested the Cincinnati Reds 11 to 6 at Yankee Stadium.
Yost enjoyed a great day at the plate. He blasted a solo shot in the 2nd
inning, clubbed a two-run home run in the 5th inning and delivered a solo
blast in the 8th inning. New York-AL totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.
Howie Pollet(1-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Warren
Hacker(3-2) was the losing pitcher. He surrended 4 homeruns in his 8
innings.
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Yost said. 'We
played well together as a team.'
