Catcher King Kelly had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Larry Corcoran came through with a
solid 9 innings as the Chicago White Stockings destroyed the struggling
Philadelphia Quakers by a score of 17 to 1 at Recreation Park.

Chicago promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating one
baserunner.  Chicago bats were hot in the 6th inning which saw them plate 5
runs on 6 hits and the 9th inning with 4 runs on 4 hits.  The Chicago offense
man-handled the Philadelphia pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9
innings.  

Corcoran(6-3) allowed 1 run on the game. Jack Neagle(0-4) was the losing
pitcher.  He allowed 17 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
