Mike Morrison tossed a complete game and Pop Snyder had 4 hits and 6 RBI as
the Cleveland Blues clobbered the outmatched floundering New York
Metropolitans, 33 to 12.
Snyder enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter
innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He tripled plating two runs
in the 2nd inning, tripled scoring a run in the 4th inning, tripled scoring
two baserunners in the 5th inning and ripped a base-hit in the 7th inning.
Cleveland bats were hot in the 1st inning with 7 runs on 5 hits and the 7th
inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 4 hits. The Cleveland offense poured
it on, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
The victory went to Morrison(4-6) who went the distance allowing 12 runs. The
losing pitcher was Ed Cushman(2-4). He was knocked around by Cleveland,
allowing 28 hits and 5 walks in 8 innings.
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Snyder said. 'We
played well together as a team.'
