WEB GEMS- Top 5th: Parke Wilson blocked the plate, saving a run!
Top 6th: New York turns a triple play!

Right fielder Tom McCreery smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI at Polo Grounds as
the Louisville Colonels pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the New York
Giants by the count of 12 to 11.

Louisville came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2
runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jack Warner kicked
off the action when he doubled. After another out, Bert Cunningham came to
the plate and laced a single resulting in a run. McCreery then tripled
scoring the final run of the inning. Louisville simply wore out the New York
pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

The win was credited to Bill Hill(4-3) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Sal Campfield(0-1) was the loser in relief. Bill McGunnigle was very
happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it in your last at
bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the fans - one minute
they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of unprintable stuff at our
guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this
afternoon!'
