where the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Boston Beaneaters in 11 innings by

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Philadelphia won it in
the 11th inning.  The critical plate appearance was by Bransfield who
deflated the crowd as he laced a base-knock plating two runs.  Philadelphia
