The Detroit Tigers got by the Cincinnati Reds at Bennett Park. The final
score was 7 to 5.

Detroit scored 4 runs in the decisive 7th inning with the help of 3 hits. The
highlight belonged to Frank Chance who thrilled the crowd when he slapped a
single bringing in two baserunners. Cincinnati out-hit Detroit 11 to 8, but
Detroit ended up with more runs.

The victory was credited to Jack Pfiester(6-1) who went 3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Buster Brown(0-1) took the loss in relief. Detroit knocked him around
a bit, as he gave up 4 runs in 2 innings.

This win by Detroit continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are a division
leading 26-8. Doug Hatch was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been
sputtering along lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two. That
won't get it done.'
