2,397 fans watched an exciting game at Huntington Ave Grnds.  The Boston-AL
Red Sox topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 3 to
2.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Boston-AL
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Tim
Jordan reached on an error.  After another out, Johnny Bates stepped in and
he tripled giving Boston-AL the win as 2,397 happy fans joyfully celebrated.
Boston-AL won despite being out-hit by Washington 14 hits to 10.  

The win went to Chief Bender(1-5) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Hooks
Wiltse(4-2) was the losing pitcher.  The win by Boston-AL was very good news
as they had been 2-8 of late.  Now their seasonal record improves to 9-25.
With the loss, Washington has a record of 6-4 lately, 16-16 overall.
