Steve Yerkes hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI at West Side Park as the Cincinnati
Reds beat the Chicago-NL Cubs in 11 innings by the count of 4 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cincinnati was
victorious in the 11th inning.  Amby McConnell slapped a one-base hit.  Joe
Tinker stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, Doc Gessler then slapped a single scoring the run.
Cincinnati had 11 hits for the afternoon while Chicago-NL had 8.  

Ed Summers(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no
runs. Pat Ragan recorded his 4th save.  The loss was charged to Russ
Ford(5-3) in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 3 hits in 2 innings.
