John Wyckoff threw a 2 hitter and Rube Oldring had 4 hits and scored 3 times
as the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the ice-cold New York Yankees in 10
innings by the score of 4 to 3 at Shibe Park.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Philadelphia won
the game in the 10th inning.  Oldring slapped a one-base hit.  Eddie Collins
stepped up next and he reached on an error.  Collins then stroked a base-hit
making Philadelphia victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.
Philadelphia had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

Wyckoff(1-3) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Russ Ford(1-4) was
tagged with the loss.  He pitched 9 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 walks.
