Grounds where the seemingly unstoppable Buffalo Bisons beat the Providence
Grays in 11 innings 4 to 3.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Buffalo
prevailed in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Joe Hornung lined a
one-base hit. Galvin was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Bill
Crowley then tripled scoring the run. Both teams ended up with 11 hits on
the afternoon.
Galvin(12-3) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Monte Ward(8-7)
absorbed the loss. He pitched 11 innings giving up 11 hits and 1 walk.
