Harry Wheeler(1-0) and Tim Keefe(7-9) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with
Wheeler and the Columbus Buckeyes coming out on top of the New York
Metropolitans 4 to 0.

Columbus plated all the runs they needed in the 1st inning when they tallied 4
runs on 5 hits. That early run support was enough for Wheeler and Columbus.
After the 1st inning, neither team was able to score.

The win by Columbus is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in
recent days. Their record now stands at 8-14 - only 2-8 in their last ten
games. With the loss, the New York ballclub's record is 10-12.
