TEAM RISP- Athletics: 4 for 14 Americans: 4 for 10

11,317 fans watched an exciting game at Huntington Ave Grnds. The
Philadelphia-AL Athletics topped the Boston-AL Americans by the slimmest of
margins, 5 to 4.

Boston-AL never recovered after Philadelphia-AL took the lead in the top of
the 3rd inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was
provided by Jake Beckley who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when
he slapped a base-hit scoring two baserunners. Boston-AL out-hit
Philadelphia-AL 13 to 10, but Philadelphia-AL ended up with more runs.

Doc White(7-2) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Roy Patterson earned
the save, his 5th. Chief Bender(1-3) was hit with the loss. Despite losing,
he struckout 12 Philadelphia-AL batters in 7 innings.
