Tim Keefe pitched a complete game as the New York Giants won in dramatic
fashion over the Detroit Wolverines by a score of 9 to 8 at Polo
Grounds.

New York scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 6
runners on 6 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Roger Connor who made
the New York fans a happy lot when he tripled bringing home two baserunners.
Both teams totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.

Keefe(9-4) allowed 8 runs on the game. Lady Baldwin(8-5) was charged with the
loss. He was unable to control the New York offense and allowed 13 hits and
2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Jim Mutrie offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great
time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
