Duke Farrell homered and had 5 RBI and Mark Baldwin was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the Pittsburg Pirates
defeated the New York Giants by the score of 9 to 5 at Polo Grounds.

Farrell had a good day at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 5th
inning, laced a base-knock knocking in a run in the 7th inning and tripled
which brought home a run in the 8th inning. Pittsburg had 10 hits for the
afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Baldwin(12-4) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Silver
King(7-6) absorbed the loss. He gave up 9 runs and 10 hits in 9 innings.

'It's just about getting in a good hitting position and just going out there
and being prepared,' Farrell said. 'You try to hit in your own capacity and
not do too much. I just try to have a good approach, day after day, game by
game, and pitch by pitch.'
