At Exposition Park, the Pittsburgh fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.  Roy
Evans(1-1) finally bested his Detroit opposite, George Mullin(1-6), by the
score of 3 to 1.

Evans put on a good performance.  He gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings improving his ERA from 4.63 to 3.20.  Evans got help from Nick
Altrock who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 5th save.

Mullin ended up with the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 4 hits in 8 innings.
