George Mullin was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the
score of 5 to 3 at Exposition Park.

Detroit brought 4 runs across the plate in the top of the 5th inning when they
had 4 base hits. The key at-bat was by George Stone who silenced Exposition
Park as he delivered a single scoring two baserunners. The Pittsburgh bats
were silent in the bottom of the 9th.

The win went to Mullin(1-2) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Nick Altrock(1-6)
was the losing pitcher. 'We really needed this win' said Jim Murphy. 'That
first drink of water at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
