WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Ham Hyatt robbed Pat Moran of an extra base hit.

With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Philadelphia Phillies rallied to top Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 7 to
6.

Philadelphia had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning
plating 2 runs. Dode Paskert led off and he drew a walk. Paskert got a
great jump and stole second easily. John Titus then drew a walk. Sherry
Magee followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Fred Luderus came to the
plate and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Otto Knabe contributed
to the rally and hit a sacrifice fly which plated a run. Tom Downey was next
and he ripped a base-knock giving Philadelphia the win much to the delight of
the home town crowd. Philadelphia had 11 hits for the afternoon.

The victory went to Toots Shultz(1-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Jack Ferry(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 1
hit in 1 and 1/3 innings.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Red Dooin offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great
time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
