Ralph Kiner cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the New York Yankees won a dandy
at Yankee Stadium over the Cleveland Indians, 7 to 6.

New York won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.  After an
out was recorded, Ned Garver laced a base-hit.  Billy Goodman stepped up next
and he reached on an error.  Kiner then drew a walk to load the bases.  Sid
Gordon stepped in and he smacked a single making New York victorious to the
delight of the the home town crowd.  New York finished with 9 hits in the
victory.  

Garver(4-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Russ Meyer(1-7)
was the loser in relief.  He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 1 and 1/3
innings and not allowing an earned run.
