topped the struggling Boston Red Sox by a score of 11 to 8 at Griffith
Stadium.

Herm Wehmeier(1-0) was the winning pitcher in relief.  He went 4 innings and
surrended up 4 hits and 2 walks.  Buddy Lively was perfect in the ninth
giving him his 5th save on the season.  

Rex Barney(2-2) suffered the loss. He had trouble throwing strikes and issued
