The Pittsburgh Pirates edged the Washington Nationals at Forbes Field by the
score of 3 to 2.

Joe Coleman(3-0) was solid in relief, and he got credit for the win. He
surrendered no hits and 2 walks in 2 innings. Washington threatened in the
9th but their rally came up short.

Coleman got help from Ellis Kinder who earned his 12th save. Don Larsen(4-8)
was hit with the loss. 'Some losses are harder to take than others' Gordy
Renaud lamented after the game. 'This was one of them.'
