TEAM RISP- Orphans: 4 for 17 Bridegrooms: 4 for 15

Jimmy Callahan had a complete game and left fielder Jimmy Ryan had 4 hits and
scored 3 times as the Chicago Orphans defeated the Brooklyn Bridegrooms in 10
innings by a score of 6 to 5 at Washington Park.

Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Chicago pulled
the game out in the 10th inning. Ryan doubled. After an out was recorded,
Bill Lange came to bat and ripped a one-base hit scoring the run. Chicago
totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.

Callahan(2-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. Brickyard
Kennedy(3-10) suffered the loss. He was knocked around by Chicago, allowing
15 hits and 3 walks in 9 and 1/3 innings.

Chicago now has a record of 25-12. Brooklyn can't seem to snap out of their
recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple
weeks.
