Ed Konetchy had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Washington Nationals staged a dramatic
comeback over the Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 8 to 3 at Ebbets Field.

In the 7th inning Washington went on top for good as they scored 2 runs on 2
base hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Konetchy who disappointed the
partisan crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners.  Washington had
15 hits overall, while Brooklyn had 9.  

Ray Fisher(3-4) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Smoky Joe Wood
recorded the save, his 13th.  Christy Mathewson(9-6) was hit with the loss in
relief.  He allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in 2 innings.
