Taylor(10-4) was on top of his game. He didn't allow much, just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. St. Louis had 12 hits for the afternoon. Hugh Daily(9-9) took the loss. When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Daily was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night. Taylor brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire game!
