Brickyard Kennedy tossed a complete game and Duke Farrell collected 2
extra-base hits and had 4 RBI as the Brooklyn Superbas staged a dramatic
comeback over the Cleveland Spiders by a score of 9 to 8 at Washington
Park.

Brooklyn came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning as they
scored 6 runs on 5 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Farrell who excited the crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Both
teams totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

Kennedy(11-3) got the victory, allowing 8 runs for the game. Willie
Sudhoff(3-8) was charged with the loss in relief. 'Now there is a lesson in
perseverance for you,' Farrell noted. 'It was looking pretty dim there for a
while, but we just kept plugging away and it really paid off in spades! And
it was great to see the crowd go crazy there at the end!'
