Nixey Callahan had 2 base hits as the Washington Senators came back to win one
over New York-NL Giants, 4 to 2.

Washington scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 3 runs utilizing
4 base hits. Fred Clarke started the inning off right when he tripled. Two
outs later Charlie Hickman came to bat and reached on an error. Ed Delahanty
then smacked a single, and an error was also committed, resulting in a run.
Candy Lachance followed and he singled which accounted for two additional
runs. New York-NL out-hit Washington 10 to 7, but Washington ended up with
more runs.

The win was credited to Rube Kisinger(6-4) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Bill Bernhard(1-3) in relief. He was pinned
with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.

Bart Ewing was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
