Jack Taylor pitched a complete game at South End Grounds where the St. Louis
Cardinals beat the Boston Beaneaters 3 to 2.

St. Louis set the tone of the game in the first inning plating an isolated run
using 2 hits.  Boston tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Taylor(5-3) allowed 2 runs on the game. Togie Pittinger(4-7) was given the
loss.  'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Boston's manager after
the game.  'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions
every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
