Third baseman Jimmy Austin had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the St. Louis-AL
Browns defeated the Boston-AL Red Sox 8 to 6 at Huntington Ave Grnds.

St. Louis-AL won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  Stuffy McInnis got things going when he stroked a
base-hit.  Jack Lapp followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Sherry
Magee then drew a walk to load the bases.  After another out, Austin came to
bat and laced a single plating two runs.  Austin took second on the throw.
St. Louis-AL had 14 hits overall, while Boston-AL had 10.  

The win went to Claude Hendrix(2-4) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Doc
Crandall(9-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and 2 hits
in 2 innings.
