Yankees beat the Washington Nationals by a score of 9 to 3.

The New York-AL fans enjoyed the offense provided by Gordon.  He clubbed a
two-run home run in the 1st inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 6th
inning.  New York-AL out-hit Washington for the game, 10 hits to 6.  

Robin Roberts(7-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. The loss was charged to Art Houtteman(3-8).  He served up 4
gopher balls in 8 innings.
