Second baseman Claude Ritchey had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jesse Tannehill
had a complete game as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Philadelphia
Phillies by a score of 9 to 5 at Baker Bowl.

Pittsburgh took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning scoring one runner.
After an out was recorded, Kitty Bransfield reached on an error.  Bransfield
then stole second base.  Ritchey then laced a base-hit scoring the run.  Both
teams ended up with 8 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Tannehill(8-1) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Bill
Magee(2-5) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 9 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings of
work.
