Jack Chesbro had a complete game as the New York Highlanders pulled out a win
over the Cleveland Naps by a score of 6 to 5 at Hilltop Park.

The game was won by New York with a run in the 9th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Lefty Davis doubled.  Willie Keeler was a strikeout victim, unable
to help out.  Wid Conroy then reached on an error.  Jimmy Williams followed
next and he slapped a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for New York
and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Both teams
totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Chesbro(9-3) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. The
loss was charged to Earl Moore(3-5).  He was touched for 12 hits and 2 walks
in 8 and 2/3 innings.
