Andy Coakley pitched a complete game shutout as the Cincinnati Reds bested the
reeling Brooklyn Superbas 3 to 0 at Washington Park.

Coakley(6-4) was solid in the win.  He allowed only 6 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings reducing his ERA from 2.63 to 2.36.  Cincinnati had only 5 hits for
the game.  

Harry McIntire(6-6) suffered the loss.  Cincinnati continued on their recent
roll, their winning streak now reaching 6 games and counting. John Ganzel was
clearly happy after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us right now.'
