Slim Sallee recorded a complete game shutout and center fielder Harry Hooper
had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds smashed the overmatched Brooklyn
Dodgers, 13 to 0.

Hooper was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled in the 1st inning, banged
out a single in the 3rd inning, doubled which plated a run in the 8th inning
and tripled plating two runs in the 9th inning. Cincinnati bats were hot in
the 9th inning with 5 runs on 6 hits. Cincinnati banged out 20 hits on the
afternoon.

Sallee(4-2) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Christy
Mathewson(8-5) was hit with the loss. He allowed 8 runs and 14 hits in 8
innings.
