Chicago-NL came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Ferris Fain started the rally when he slapped a single. Duke Snider came next and he drew a walk. Solly Hemus then ripped a base-hit plating a run. Eddie Yost followed and he reached on an error resulting in an exciting win for Chicago-NL and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Chicago-NL managed 18 hits in their victory.
