John Clarkson completed the game without help from the bullpen and catcher
Jack O'Connor went yard and had 4 RBI as the Cleveland Spiders topped the
Boston Beaneaters by a score of 13 to 9 at South End Grounds.

Cleveland erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning as they scored
4 runs on 5 base hits.  It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change
hands 5 times.  

Clarkson(5-3) finished the game allowing 9 runs in the victory. Harry
Staley(3-6) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Cleveland, allowing
18 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.  

When questioned, Patsy Tebeau remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt
this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
