George Wheeler pitched a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated
the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8 to 3 at Baker Bowl.

Cincinnati never recovered after Philadelphia took the lead in the bottom of
the 4th inning plating an isolated run using 2 hits.  Philadelphia banged out
13 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Wheeler(3-1) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Frank Dwyer(2-2) was charged with the loss.  He was knocked around by
Philadelphia, allowing 13 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
