Jack Townsend was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at American League Park as the Washington Senators beat the
slumping St. Louis Browns 9 to 5.

Washington came up with 3 runs in the 4th inning.  Charles Moran led off and
keyed the rally when he doubled.  Rabbit Robinson came next and he drew a
walk.  One out later, Townsend dug into the batters box next, but he struck
out.  Kip Selbach was up next and he reached on an error.  Jimmy Ryan came up
to bat and delivered a base-hit, and an error was also committed, driving in
three runs.  Washington banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Townsend(3-4) who went the distance, allowing 5
runs. The losing pitcher was Jack Powell(3-6).  He was knocked around by
Washington, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
