Jack Coombs went the distance at American League Park where the Washington
Nationals beat the Boston-AL Red Sox 6 to 4.

Boston-AL found themselves trailing quickly as the Washington bats came
through in the first inning when they scored 4 runs on 4 hits.  Despite
losing, Boston-AL out-hit Washington 11 to 7.  

The victory went to Coombs(7-8) who went the distance allowing 4 runs. Charley
Hall(1-2) was charged with the loss.  He had trouble throwing strikes and
issued 7 walks in 4 innings.  

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Coombs said.
